Chart-topping music star sentenced after throwing chair off rooftop bar-Rebecca Sayce-Entertainment – Metro

A country music icon has been sentenced to seven days at a DUI education centre for throwing a chair from a rooftop bar.
Morgan Wallen, 31, was arrested in Nashville in April and charged with charged with felony reckless endangerment and disorderly conduct following the incident.
The One Thing At A Time hitmaker allegedly threw a chair from Chief’s Bar, a six-story bar on Broadway in Nashville, just before 11pm on April 7.
The chair landed in front of two officers who were standing outside of the bar.
WKRN reported at the time that witnesses claimed the country musician was seen picking up the chair, throwing it, and then ‘laughing.’
A judge in Nashville sentenced Wallen to serve one week of incarceration at a DUI education centre as well as two years’ probation after the singer pleaded guilty due to judicial diversion.

The singer must also pay court fees and a $350 (£276) fine.
Wallen’s attorney Worrick Robinson IV said in a statement that the singer has ‘cooperated fully’ with authorities following his arrest.
‘Mr. Wallen has cooperated fully with authorities throughout these last eight months, directly communicating and apologizing to all involved,’ he said according to People.
‘Mr. Wallen remains committed to making a positive impact through his music and foundation.’
On April 19, Wallen released a statement on his Instagram page admitting he was ‘not proud of his behaviour.’
‘I didn’t feel right publicly checking in until I made amends with some folks,’ he wrote.

‘I’ve touched base with Nashville law enforcement, my family, and the good people at Chief’s. I’m not proud of my behavior, and I accept responsibility.
‘I have the utmost respect for the officers working every day to keep us all safe. Regarding my tour, there will be no change.’
At the time of the incident, officers claimed that the chair throw posed a danger to the public, and that Wallen ‘created a hazardous condition by an act that served no legitimate purpose’.
