Taylor Swift has wrapped her Eras Tour, celebrated her 35th birthday and visited a Kansas City children’s hospital in the space of a few days.

It would be a mammoth effort for the average person, but for Taylor, who is known for being overly productive, it’s just another week. At least it was an average week.

Now, having found herself with some extra time on her hands after concluding the last show in her record-breaking 149 date tour, the Cruel Summer singer is taking a well-earned break.

Following a year full of city hopping, an album release, a book release and countless broken records, she’s swapping a chaotic yet impressively well-run schedule for something more relaxed.

With eight homes to choose from, including her $150 million penthouse in Manhattan’s TriBeCa neighborhood and 11,000-square-foot historical landmark in California, its unclear exactly where the popstar and her AFL boyfriend, Travis Kelce will park up this winter.

But with nowhere to be and Christmas right around the corner, it seems Taylor can take pleasure in knowing she can do almost whatever she wants.

According to a source who spoke to People magazine, for now that means resting. She is ‘looking forward to a holiday break’, but it won’t be for long as she teased in her recently released book, she will see fans ‘in the next era’.

While we scramble to work out exactly what that means, we look back at the top seven moments of Taylor Swift’s 2024:

The pop star has been locking lips with her Kansas Chiefs beau, Travis Kelce, for over a year now, with their first major public display of affection occurring on January 28.

Meeting her lover on the football field, Taylor planted a kiss on his lips for the world to see just moments after his team won the AFC Championship, solidifying their spot in the Super Bowl and the popstar’s new PDA era.

While it’s not usual for couples to share smooches in front of the cameras, it is unusual for Taylor.

Prior to dating Travis, she was in a relationship with British actor Joe Alwyn and despite the exes dating for six years, they were rarely seen together, let alone seen engaging in PDA, so her kiss with Travis was a huge moment for the couple and fans alike.

The Grammy Awards were a great day for the likes of Miley Cyrus, Victoria Monét and SZA who all had impressive and memorable wins, but there’s no denying it was Taylor who stole the spotlight.

Walking the carpet in a strapless white Schiaparelli gown complimented with black and white accessories and a watch choker, she caused a stir among fans on social media, who all speculated she was about to announce the re-release of her long-anticipated Reputation (Taylor’s Version).

Alas, it wasn’t true, and we’re still waiting for the 2017 masterpiece to drop.

But, all was revealed when she won the album of the year award for the fourth time in her career, earning her the title of the award’s most prolific recipient. To celebrate, the pop star sensationally announced her eleventh studio album.

‘I want to say thank you to the fans by telling you a secret I’ve been keeping from you for the last two years,’ she said during her acceptance speech. ‘Which is that my brand new album comes out April 19. It’s called The Tortured Poets Department.’

From the get-go, it was clear 2024 was going to be a record-breaking year for Taylor. As well as the Eras Tour projected to become the highest grossing tour of all time (ultimately an accurate prediction), she also had some major award wins.

In May, soon after the release of TTPD, the beloved musician earned two Billboard honours; the first was having the most songs in the Hot 100 in a single week by a woman, after 31 songs were in the charts.

The second was she had every single spot in the top 14, becoming the first artist to do so.

Later in the year, she outdid Michael Jackson with her eight Wembley shows, becoming the artist with the most amount of shows at the London stadium. However, that could soon be taken off her with Coldplay set to play ten shows at the venue next year.

By September, Taylor’s recording breaking continued as she won seven awards at the MTV Video Music Awards, giving her a total of 30 moon people and the title of the most decorated artist in the award show’s history,

With all this in mind, it came as no surprise when Spotify dropped its Wrapped campaign and announced Taylor as this year’s most-streamed artist for the second consecutive year.

Taylor had a series of very special guests during her London shows, including Ed Sheeran, Florence Welch and Jack Antonoff, but none quite as special as Prince William, made even more special as it was on his 42nd birthday.

Choosing to join 89,000 other fans at the June 21 show, William, Prince George and Princess Charlotte danced the night away before meeting Taylor backstage.

Sharing some photos on her Instagram, Taylor was all smiles as she posed with the first, second and third in line for the throne: ‘Happy Bday M8! London shows are off to a splendid start,’ she wrote.

Kate Middleton and little Prince Louis did not attend the event, but no doubt heard all about it from the trio, who looked to have had the best time.

Charlotte even earned high praise from Travis, who spoke about the encounter on his podcast, New Heights, with his brother Jason Kelce. ‘She was a superstar,’ Travis said, adding that William was encouraging her to be ‘present’ and ‘vocal’ during the meeting.

In one of her final huge moments of the year, the musician put another of her many talented hats on and released The Eras Tour book.

The hardcover, 256 paged book, with over 500 images and never-before-seen performance shots, also features personal reflections written by Taylor herself, and while only sold exclusively at Target, it was a huge hit with fans.

In the first weekend, it sold over 814,000 copies, becoming the second-biggest nonfiction debut behind President Barack Obama’s A Promised Land, which was released in 2020.

Now, with the Eras tour over and the huge year almost over and done with, the question on everyone’s tongues is, ‘What will Taylor do next?’ while we don’t have the answer, you can be rest assured, we will be reporting when it happens.
