Netflix viewers have declared a black comedy starring two 90s TV legends as ‘one of the best things I’ve seen in a long time’.

Created by Dead to Me’s Liz Feldman, the eight-part series No Good Deed follows three families competing to buy the same Los Angeles house before realising things may be amiss inside the walls of their dream home.

The homeowners – Lydia and Paul Morgan – are played by Friends star Lisa Kudrow and Everybody Loves Raymond’s Ray Romano.

After the couple suffered a tragic loss three years earlier, they are at loggerheads over whether to sell their family home, however things get complicated when the true circumstances of their son’s death begin to emerge.

At the same time, they are facing three couples, including their neighbours JD (Luke Wilson) and Margo (Linda Cardellini as their neighbours), who are desperate to buy the 1920s Spanish villa in the sought after neighbourhood of Los Feliz.

After racing through the episodes, many fans have shared their opinion of the series online.

‘Hilarious, full of drama, plot twists – everything you want a show to be! Lisa Kudrow is fantastic in her role, and both shows comedic and real emotional depths to her character which is just so entertaining to watch. I did really enjoy all the side stories and how they managed to link it all together in the final episode,’ Christian posted on Rotten Tomatoes.

‘This was so good! The best show I’ve watched in a long, long time. It had everything you could ever want in a show, comedy, mystery and meaning. I loved this show!’ user MM wrote.

‘I loved this series and binged it in one sitting. The pilot was my favourite, but the entire series is so fun with some really emotional moments as well,’ Janet added.

Many others praised Lisa’s performance, saying she delivered a ‘powerhouse’ performance.

‘I’ve always had so much space in my heart for Lisa Kudrow, but oh my goodness she’s ASTOUNDING in No Good Deed. The first Netflix show I’ve binged in one session in forever because it’s just so darkly funny and unpredictable,’ Shane posted on X.

‘No Good Deed on Netflix is so good! Lisa Kudrow is killing this role,’ user naledisibisi wrote.

Speaking about the inspiration for the show, Liz said it all began when she was on the property hunt herself.

‘I saw over 50 houses, and I realized there are so many secrets in the buying and selling of a house. And so, I wanted to explore that,’ she told Netflix’s Tudum.

Explaining the circumstances of the main characters at the start of the series, she then explained: ‘We meet them at a little bit of a crossroads — it’s a really interesting time in their lives

‘We know they’re about to go through some major changes. They know they’re about to go through some major changes in their [lives]. But they have no idea how major.’

No Good Deed is streaming on Netflix.
