Netflix fans can’t contain their excitement as Netflix teases the final five episodes of the beloved comedy-drama series, Cobra Kai.
The martial arts show serves as a sequel to the Karate Kid series and follows Johnny Lawrence (William Zabka) thirty-three years after his loss to Danny LeRusso (Ralph Maccio) as he re-opens his old karate dojo.
The show first streamed on YouTube in 2018 before it was sold to Netflix after two seasons.
Each season traditionally has ten episodes but after an emotional seven-year journey, the sixth and final season features 25 episodes to bring this story to a dramatic close.
Although part one and part two have already come out, fans have a little while to wait before the last batch of episodes hits the streamer in February 2025.
For now, Netflix has released a teaser trailer that drives home the four-decade reach of this franchise and ‘a legacy that will live forever’.
‘This may be the end, but Cobra Kai never dies,’ the teaser ends with an oft-repeated mantra from the large and devoted fanbase.
Dubbing it the ‘greatest karate saga of all time’, the caption to the teaser reads: ‘This may be the end, but we’re not good at goodbyes…because COBRA KAI NEVER DIES!’
Part two ended with a major twist after the shocking death of Kwon Jae-Sung (Brandon H. Lee) during a global karate tournament taking place in Barcelona with many fans intrigued to see how the tournament will go ahead following such a tragic turn.
‘I’m so excited for the final episodes,’ @turnerwj1 wrote on X.
‘I”l be honest…I will cry when series ends in February. COBRA KAI NEVER DIES! One of the greatest series in a long time will be missed!’ @j22_super added.

‘I will miss #CobraKai a lot. It was the show I didn’t know I needed, but I’m glad I watched every moment of it. Can’t wait to see how it wraps up!’ @guardians_comic said.
‘Still can’t process how we went from watching these characters fight in the 80s to seeing their kids carry on the legacy and now we have to say goodbye to both generations,’ @pattherogue commented.
‘I’m gonna miss Cobra Kai, but all good things must eventually come to an end,’ @english_shamar commiserated.
‘Looks like for Christmas Eve Netflix dropped the first teaser for part 3 of Cobra Kai season 6, awesome,’ @bart2389 celebrated.
In fact, most fans declared that the series – Josh Heald, Jon Hurwitz, and Hayden Schlossberg’is so good’ that they ‘don’t want it to end’.
Josh has opened up about part three and what to expect from it in a recent interview with Collider, saying it ‘has to answer for everything that happened in part two’.
He continued: ‘We like being in a place where you have an anxiousness of, “Well, where do you go after that? How does the show respond? How does the world respond?”.

‘We have to wrap up this series in the way that we’ve always planned to wrap it up, so we painted ourselves into an intentional corner knowing how we were going to get out.’
In short, the final five episodes have ‘an expectation of the great unknown and the hope for explosiveness’.
The showrunner also confirmed the kids in the show would graduate high school by the end so they can send them off into ‘adulthood’.
Cobra Kai is not the only long-running show coming to an imminent end. Stranger Things, one of the streamer’s flagship shows, wrapped production on its final season last week.
Cobra Kai is currently streaming on Netflix. Season six part three will arrive on February 13, 2025.
