Israel Adesanya Height, Weight, Records, Losses and Net Worth

The reigning middleweight champion Israel Adesanya is arguably one of the biggest active stars in the UFC currently. Since breaking out with 5 wins in his first year with the organization, Adesanya’s stock continued to grow with time. As it stands, he’s one of the most recognizable champions on the roster who is a cross-continental representative.

‘The Last Stylebender’ is coming off the first loss of his professional career that came at the hands of Jan Blachowicz. Adesanya moved up to the light heavyweight division in an unsuccessful bid to capture the 205-pound strap. Despite the defeat, he is still the undisputed champion at 185-pounds with two title defenses under his belt already.

A brief look at Israel Adesanya’s UFC record

Adesanya is a consummate professional at middleweight who has never missed the 185-mark on weigh-in day. He stands 6’4” tall with a giant 80’’ reach, which has given him a decided edge in most of his career battles. The heaviest Adesanya has weighed in has been 200.5 pounds which was incidentally in his last fight against Blachowicz.

Israel Adesanya comes into his third title defense against Marvin Vettori with a 20-1-0 pro record, last having fought on March 06, 2021. He lost his only amateur bout back in November 2009 via UD to Neroni Savaiinaea and went on a 20 fight win streak after that.

Not to mention, Adesanya is a juggernaut at the box-office generating 1,675,000 total pay-per-view buys across three top-selling headlining features. His highest pulling PPV buy-in came at UFC 259 back in March 2021. Israel Adesanya also won ‘Breakout Fighter of the Year 2018’ and was a part of the ‘Fight of the Year 2019’ for his scrap against Kelvin Gastelum.

Only career MMA loss

As mentioned earlier, Adesanya was undefeated right until his last octagon appearance, when he ran into Jan Blachowicz. The fight was a five-round affair with Adesanya finding success early on in the contest. However, the Polish light heavyweight champion was able to implement effective grappling in the fourth and fifth rounds to ensure he won the fight.

Jan Blachowicz was able to take Adesanya down at will, and more importantly, he could keep him down. Thus far, the middleweights on the roster haven’t been able to accomplish such a feat and some believe that the blueprint to beat Adesanya is out. However, the City Kickboxing standout would vehemently disagree with that notion.

Net Worth and Sponsorships

Israel Adesanya’s disclosed career earnings come out to be $1, 418,000 USD per Tapology with room for incremental growth with each fight. Adesanya’s net worth per Clutch Points stands at $2,000,000. From his debut against Rob Wilkinson to his last middleweight title defense against Paulo Costa, Adesanya has gone from $1,53,000 to $6,90,000.

His earnings have included several ‘Performance of the Night’ bonus checks and fight week incentive pay.

As for sponsorships, Israel Adesanya is the first MMA fighter to sign a deal with Puma in September 2020. He also has endorsement deals with Australia-based MMA gear and training equipment company ‘Engage’ and is the brand ambassador for Skate.com.
