Palmetto Championship at Congaree: Complete Breakdown of the Prize Money From Winner to Last-Place

The Palmetto Championship at Congaree is currently taking center stage on the PGA Tour. The one-time event is being hosted at the Congaree Golf Club and saw a few prominent names exit the tournament after 36-holes. The event is nearing its completion, and here is the total prize pool and the winner’s payout at the Palmetto Championship.

The Palmetto Championship will unfortunately not be a part of the PGA Tour calendar in 2022. It is hosted this year as a replacement for the RBC Canadian Open. While the Palmetto Championship is just a one-off event, it does boast a lucrative prize purse.

The inaugural Palmetto Championship will award a total prize pool of $7.3 million in 2021. This purse is quite enticing, even though it does not match the $7.6M prize purse the RBC Canadian Open offered in 2019 (the tournament was suspended in 2020 and 2021).

How much will the winner earn at the Palmetto Championship at Congaree?

Just like any other PGA Tour event, the winner of the Palmetto Championship at Congaree will take home the highest share of the prize purse. The champion will get an 18% of the total $7.3 million prize purse at the Congaree Golf Club.

To be precise, the winner of the Palmetto Championship at Congaree will receive a payout of $1.314 million this year. This is nearly equivalent to the winner’s prize money that most of the tour events offer.

Only the winner gets to take home a seven-figure sum at the Palmetto Championship. The rest will see their prize money come in six figures and five figures, depending on the leaderboard.
