John Cena Reveals the Most Important Lesson Vince McMahon Taught Him

If Vince McMahon had a favorite wrestler, John Cena would be the safest guess. The sixteen-time World Champion led McMahon’s company through the Ruthless Aggression Era into the 2010s. He remains one of four faces on WWE’s Mount Rushmore, irrespective of who the other four are.

John Cena learnt from Vince McMahon

Working with Vince McMahon for over two decades must’ve rubbed off on Cena. After all, he was the man Vince trusted to lead to company. The face of WWE received massive heat from the WWE Universe, but because of Vince McMahon’s lessons he remains sorely missed to this date.

In an interview with Chris Van Vliet, John Cena discussed the most important lesson Vince McMahon taught him.

“That’s another hour and a half special; maybe more. I continue to learn from him every single day. Like there’s not an instance that goes by where I don’t reflect on my experience from the WWE and what he has taught me. And often times learning from osmosis; he doesn’t like hit you over the head with the lessons he bestows upon you. But you can learn from his decision making.”

“It says a lot about the person and what you can take. That well is endless and isn’t dried up yet. I continue to learn from him.” Cena continued, “I think the most valuable of all the lessons is just show up and deliver, and that’s something he doesn’t say, it’s something he does, all the effing time.”

“He’s always there, he’s always invested. People can question his creative motives or whatever they want; it’s creativity. There’s always gonna be opinionated. There’s always gonna be boots on the ground, he’s always invested and he always believes and is passionate about the product, and I think just showing up and delivering, that’s a huge takeaway.”

Is a Cena return in the cards?

Rumors surrounding Cena‘s return to WWE have been flying about for months. While many thought they’d see him at WrestleMania, he broke fans hearts by claiming his schedule wouldn’t allow it. However, the rumors about Cena returning for SummerSlam might be true.

Cena hasn’t competed in a WWE ring since the Firefly Funhouse match against Bray Wyatt at WrestleMania 36. While Wyatt was a tough opponent, Cena’s touted opponent for SummerSlam is insane. All signs have pointed towards Cena returning to face Roman Reigns at SummerSlam.

Reigns vs Cena will be a banger, especially with Cena chasing his seventeenth World Championship win. As for Reigns, his only goal will be to beat John Cena, a man who humiliated him in 2017, but beat him easily at No Mercy.
