E3 2021 Nintendo Direct: Instead of the Nintendo Switch Pro, Fans Got a Legend of Zelda Game and Watch Console

The fourth day of the virtual E3 2021 event featured the exciting Nintendo Direct event. Fans originally thought the Nintendo Switch Pro and some Animal Crossing: New Horizons announcements are going to be the highlights of the event. Unfortunately, the publishers ended up disappointing fans as they excluded both of these from the showcase.

While fans might have to wait longer for the Switch Pro, they did get a new console at E3 2021. Nintendo announced the production of The Legend of Zelda Game & Watch console today. This is yet another handheld console that will allow fans to play retro Zelda games once again.

The Legend of Zelda Game & Watch will offer 4 classic Nintendo games

Players will be able to play four classic Legend of Zelda games on the upcoming Game & Watch console. These plan to offer the fans of the franchise a trip down memory lane as they feel nostalgic playing the games from their childhood. The Game & Watch also has the retro Gameboy look to make the experience even more realistic.

The Nintendo Game and Watch will offer the original Legend of Zelda title and Legend of Zelda II: The Adventure of link. Obviously, the first two titles are necessary if Nintendo plans to recreate the Zelda experience. Moreover, the console will also offer the Game Boy version of The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening. Lastly, the fourth game it has to offer is a special version of Vermin.

According to the Nintendo Direct at E3 2021, the Legend of Zelda Game & Watch will officially release on November 12, 2021.

Legend of Zelda Game & Watch comes with a playable clock

Beating records has always been a hobby of those who love to play games like this. Therefore, the upcoming Game & Watch comes with a ‘playable clock’ for every upcoming game. The clock runs in the background, informing players of the time they have/spent while playing the levels.

This unique feature makes fans want to get The Legend of Zelda Game and Watch as soon as possible. While it might not be the console fans were expecting, it is at least better than getting nothing at all. Moreover, it won’t burn as deep a hole in one’s pocket as a Nintendo Switch Pro would have.
