Piers Morgan has slammed Chrissy Teigen’s public apology, over her historic Twitter comments.

The model, 35, issued a public statement on Medium on Monday, admitting she ‘was a troll, full stop’ – after Courtney Stodden revealed the vicious messages she had received from the star in the past.

Designer and Project Runway contestant Michael Costello also alleged that the mum-of-two accused him of being racist, leaving him suicidal.

The statement was met with a mixed response from fans, with some claiming she was ‘only sorry she’s been exposed’.

Piers has now dedicated his latest column to her apology, branding her the ‘worst kind of shameless, duplicitous woke celebrity’.

Taking aim at John Legend’s wife in a new piece for MailOnline, the former Good Morning Britain host penned: ‘So, like everything else in Chrissy Teigen’s warped world, her mea culpa yesterday was a lie, a sham and deliberate attempt to con the world into thinking she’s a nice person really. She’s not and never has been.’

Comparing Chrissy to Jameela Jamil and Meghan Markle, he questioned why she ‘deserves a second chance to prove she’s changed’ after her tweets emerged.

‘She never apologised for any of her hateful tweets until they were unearthed, and she never showed an ounce of compassion or forgiveness to any of her myriad victims that she so relentlessly hounded and tried to ruin,’ he continued. ‘In fact, quite the opposite – she told them she wished them dead.

‘So, sorry Chrissy – but spare me your pathetic crocodile tears.’

‘I don’t like cancel culture, because in most cases the victims of it don’t deserve to be cancelled. But in your case, it couldn’t happen to a nastier hypocritical bully.’

Piers’ column comes after Chrissy opened up about her past tweets in a lengthy statement – following a social media hiatus.

In a first-person piece on Medium, the Lip Sync Battle presenter said she is privately reaching out to those she has targeted on social media.

‘I understand that they may not want to speak to me. I don’t think I’d like to speak to me. (The real truth in all of this is how much I actually cannot take confrontation.) But if they do, I am here and I will listen to what they have to say, while apologising through sobs,’ she said.

‘I was a troll, full stop. And I am so sorry,’ she vowed, explaining her past behaviour made her ‘cringe to [her] core’ and admitting she was ‘insecure, immature and in a world where I thought I needed to impress strangers to be accepted’ when she sent the trolling messages.

‘I know I let you down, but I hope I can make you proud. It’s been a heavy few weeks, so I’m going to take some more time to focus on things that are most important — being with my family and taking care of myself,’ she added.

‘We are all more than our worst moments. I won’t ask for your forgiveness, only your patience and tolerance.

‘I ask that you allow me, as I promise to allow you, to own past mistakes and be given the opportunity to seek self improvement and change.’
