Gilles Simon did not mince his words during the interview

Gilles Simon was a bit annoyed with certain things after the end of the French Open. The French player said in his interview to L’Equipe, that the big players are getting all the importance. The three-four big players are making the headlines, even though the youngsters are working hard to reach the finals.

I tweet very little but some things caught my attention. There are a lot of people, who are stuck on certain things and you want to tell them: “But you watch them, the matches?” Me, I see the half Nadal – Djokovic and the final DjokovicTsitsipas, and I see crazy matches! Because some would like it to be Nadal or Federer who wins, that they minimize the quality of Tsitsipas as soon as he makes a mistake, while he has a dream attitude, that makes me react, explained the person in particular. When you want a result, you don’t see the game in the same way anymore. Too many people are just missing out. While the players are just monstrous!,” said the French star in his interview with L’Equipe.

Simon later recovered from his rant and said positive things about the French Open. The French star lost in his first-round match at the Halle Open. He lost 1-6, 6-3, 4-6 to Nikoloz Basilashvili of Georgia.
