Several Good Morning Britain viewers have called for This Morning’s Holly Willoughby to replace Piers Morgan on the show and host with Susanna Reid.

Earlier this week, it was announced that money expert Martin Lewis is to join Susanna on ITV’s GMB for a guest stint from Monday June 28 to Wednesday June 30.

He’ll be stepping into Piers’ shoes following the broadcaster’s departure from the programme in March, following on from other guest co-hosts including Richard Madeley and Adil Ray.

Amid the reaction to Martin’s appointment on the programme, some GMB viewers expressed their view that Holly should take Piers’ place at the table with Susanna.

‘Can you get Holly Willoughby to host on GMB with Susanna please and thank you,’ one person pleaded on Twitter.

Another person said that seeing Holly and Susanna together on GMB would be their ‘ideal pairing’.

However, others were less keen on the idea, with one viewer saying they wouldn’t want Holly to appear on GMB due to her frequent ‘giggling’.

‘I love Holly, but can she take anything seriously. She is always giggling, and yes, it is infectious lol….’ another remarked.

At the moment, Holly appearing on GMB may not be too feasible, considering the programme ends at 9am on weekdays, with This Morning starting just an hour later.

While we’re sure Holly would be able to tackle the sharp turnaround – it may just be a little bit too close a shave!

So do you think Holly could join Susanna on GMB after Piers’ exit? Have your say below.

Speaking to The Mirror ahead of his guest appearance on GMB, Martin said that he’s ‘loved answering questions’ on the show for 15 years.

‘Now I’m stoked about getting the chance to ask them. While I hope to set the agenda on key consumer issues like scams and the financially excluded, I’m also up for the challenge of spreading my wings on all subjects,’ he said.

Martin added that he won’t refrain from holding people ‘to account’ when they’re interviewed on the programme.

‘And when it comes to holding power to account, I always play fair with a straight bat, but that doesn’t stop me swinging it hard,’ he stressed.

Good Morning Britain airs weekdays from 6am on ITV.
