Blink-182 star Mark Hoppus confirms cancer diagnosis: ‘I’m trying to remain hopeful and positive’

Blink-182 star Mark Hoppus has confirmed he has been diagnosed with cancer and is undergoing treatment.

The singer said in a statement: ‘For the past three months I’ve been undergoing chemotherapy for cancer.

‘I have cancer. It sucks and I’m scared, and at the same time I’m blessed with incredible doctors and family and friends to get me through this.

‘I still have months of treatment ahead of me but I’m trying to remain hopeful and positive. Can’t wait to be cancer free and see you all at a concert in the hopefully near future. Love to you all.’

Friends and fans of the star have shared supportive messages, with one telling him: ‘Mark I’m sending you all of my love and support. Nothing but good vibes and healing energy to you man. We love you!!’

‘My heart hurts so much. Praying for you, Mark. Kick cancer’s ass,’ another added.

One more said: ‘I love you. Blink 182 has always been one of my favorite bands and you’re a legend. You will beat this! Get well soon king.’

All Time Low frontman Alex Gaskarth shared a heart emoji, adding afterwards: ‘Do you have a moment to talk about hyperspace tracking.’

The 49-year-old had previously shared and then deleted a photo of himself receiving cancer treatment.

Mark makes up Blink-182 alongside Travis Barker, Tom DeLonge, and Matt Skiba, as well as band Simple Creatures alongside All Time Low frontman Alex.
