“Now the Subject Has Changed”: Tony Nadal Favors Novak Djokovic Over Federer and Nadal in Grand Slam Race

An enthralling battle at the Roland Garros Semi-Finals; had the world on the edge of its seats. Serbian International, Novak Djokovic went head to head with Rafael Nadal, in what was surely, a game to be remembered. With the Spaniard taking the lead early on in the game, his progression to the final was deemed confirmed. However, a Djokovic Masterclass not only surprised his haters but also left Nadal Fans unimpressed, in doubt.

Below-par performance

Rafael’s Ex-coach, Toni Nadal, expressed his disappointment following the defeat. “I didn’t find it at a particularly high level. When you look at the last set, yes. It is true that he won very good points, but Rafael failed more than usual”, said Toni. The Spanish coach, who also happens to be Nadal’s Uncle, continues to be critical of his pupils’ performance. Often hailed as one of the best, he is well credited for his nephew’s success.

This caught the attention of Toni Nadal who backs the Serbian to win it all this year. “It’s tough but possible djokovic will win the big four this year”, said Toni, following the victory.

Regardless, the former Nadal Coach believes the road ahead is tough, even for someone with the likes of Novak Djokovic. Toni said, “I wrote that the next Wimbledon and US Open are going to define things a little bit because I understand that every year it’s going to be harder to win. Tsitsipas already came close to beating Djokovic in Paris; Medvedev and Zverev are already there, sinner, Musetti…”
