Roman Reigns Achieves Another Milestone, Likely to Beat Brock Lesnar’s WWE Record

‘The Tribal Chief’ Roman Reigns has become a different beast after his transition to the dark side, smashing one record after another. And now, the current Universal Champion has reached yet another milestone amidst his monumental run.

Reigns has been the universal champion for 300 consecutive days and counting. Now, he is second only to the ‘Beast’ Brock Lesnar, who held the title for a staggering 503 days.

Reigns captured the belt at Payback last year in a triple-threat match between him, Bray ‘The Fiend’ Wyatt, and Braun Strowman with Paul Heyman by his side, where he pinned Braun Strowman to win the title.

The SmackDown star made his comeback one week prior to Payback at SummerSlam last year in a wicked fashion. The day officially marked his transition to a heel, something fans had been demanding for years.

The internet is flooded with fans of ‘The Tribal Chief’, celebrating his latest achievement; certainly, this fresh portrayal of Roman Reigns has made him one of the hottest commodities in wrestling right now.

Roman Reigns’ initial run as the Universal Champion

Reigns has been a very busy champion, defending his coveted championship regularly. His very first title defense was against his own kin Jey Uso (one half of the tag team The Uso) at Clash of Champions, where Reigns won the match with a technical knockout. Notably, Jimmy Uso threw in the towel, signaling that Jey couldn’t fight anymore.

The two again met for a rematch inside Hell in a Cell in an “I Quit” match, where the champion made Jey quit after attacking the injured Jimmy; thus, keeping the title.

Following the match, Jey had to address Reigns as their “Tribal Chief”; since then, Jey is always at Reigns’ corner, backing him up in sneaky attacks.

Ever since the Shield broke up, WWE had a tough time figuring out what the audience really wants from him. Roman’s inability to cut promos like the other big names and an arsenal of handful moves was haunting the wrestler and the management for almost half a decade.
