It is being claimed that long-time Busted band member Matt Willis is now making moves to become a TV presenter just like his wife Emma.

Emma has hosted a bevvy of shows, including Big Brother, The Voice and The Circle, and is currently hosting Cooking With The Stars, which is set to arrive later this month.

It’s being reported that Matt has been inspired by his wife, and has even signed up to her management team in hopes they can help him with his career change.

A source told The Sun: ‘After over two decades in Busted, Matt is preparing to make the move into TV presenting. He is totally overhauling his image and sees his future on the box.

‘Matt is so serious about this new step he has signed up to Emma’s management company, who helped curate her career to make her a huge star. Together, the pair are being touted as TV’s new power couple.’

They said that the pair have ‘great chemistry’ together and would work perfectly for ‘wholesome, family television’.

The source also revealed that Matt has been going to a variety of castings for new TV programmes and was even in the final round for BBC2’s new series Rock Of Ages.

While the role ended up going to Martin Kemp, Matt hasn’t been ‘disheartened’.

‘Busted have been on a hiatus since 2019 and while he is very much still part of the band, it’s something that is on the back burner for now. His fans should be watching out for him on a new TV series soon and if their plan works, Emma will be by his side,’ they added.

Matt formed Busted with band members Charlie Simpson and James Bourne in 2000, and since then he has also added acting roles to his resume.

He has appeared in Birds Of A Feather, EastEnders and is next starring as Dr Pomatter in the musical Waitress.

While the band is on a break, Matt will be filming alongside Ed Westwick in new World War Two movie Wolves Of War.

Meanwhile TV royalty Emma said she would join Strictly Come Dancing ‘in a heartbeat’ after The Circle was axed earlier this year.

The Voice host admitted that she’d been asked before to star on the hit BBC programme, but has never been able to find the time before due to filming clashes.

‘I’ve been asked in the past but it’s always the time of year when we’re filming The Voice and The Circle,’ she said.

‘The Circle is not happening this year, but let’s hope The Voice is — otherwise I will be doing Strictly.’
