Twitter sees mixed reactions as the roof closes down during the quarter-finals of Wimbledon 2021

Fans had multiple reactions on Twitter after the authorities decided to close the roof of the Centre Court. A fan wrote, Tennis needs to take a good look at how scheduling is being done in slams & the tour. Hurkacz will be playing 3rd day in a row & with almost a day’s less rest compared to Federer! Shouldn’t happen especially when there was a roof available to complete match.”

Some of the Federer fans hoped that this closing down of the roof might help the Swiss Maestro to fight back.

Com’on close the centre court roof.
How can you lose that set Federer? #Wimbledon

Some even claimed that this is some kind of a conspiracy by the Wimbledon Championships’ authorities as they decided to close the roof even when the sky is cloudless.

A fan tweeted, “Possible match-fixing at Wimbledon. They close the roof on a cloudless sky just as Federer is about to serve and Federer serves immediately. Almost feels like Federer was waiting for it.”

Unbelievable.

Some even demanded that authorities should withdraw their decision and open the roof again.
