Stacey Solomon is reportedly going to take some time away from work to focus on her family after son Rex was hospitalised last month.

Rex, who she shares with fiancé Joe Swash, suffered a nasty fall while playing in the garden and needed stitches, with the mum-of-three spending ‘sleepless nights’ by his side on the ward.

The Loose Women star is keen to focus on her kids and her health following the accident especially as she is pregnant with her fourth child, her second with the former EastEnders star.

She and Joe have headed off on holiday to regroup and make sure she relaxes.

A source told OK!: ‘Stacey is really taking a step back from work. The little accident that Rex had gave them a shock and while Stacey tries to do everything and please everyone, she knows she needs to put her health and her family first.

‘This baby is more important than anything. They’ve gone to Cornwall for a little break and some chill time.

‘Stacey is making sure she looks after herself.’

Explaining Rex’s accident, the former X Factor star said it had been a ‘nightmare’ that left Joe in tears.

On her Instagram Stories she explained at the time: ‘We had a nightmare yesterday. Rex fell over in the garden and we were like, “Up you get”. Then we looked and it was not an “up you get” situation.

‘He hurt his lip so we took him into A&E and he had some little butterfly strips put on. I’m going back today to get him proper stitches, because it’s in a really awkward place.’

She added: ‘But he was so good and he didn’t make a sound. He was just like: “Yeah, fix it,” to the doctor. But he was so good.’

Joe confessed: ‘Honestly, when the kids are hurt I panic like nobody’s business.’

Stacey revealed: ‘He had to leave the room and he was crying. Bless your soul. I’ll be looking after Joe today more than Rex – I love you.’
