Susanna Reid hit by vile abuse after breaking down in tears on GMB over 9-year-old’s letter to Marcus Rashford
SUSANNA Reid has been hit with vile abuse after breaking down in tears on Good Morning Britain.
The 50-year-old presenter was moved by a letter sent to England star Marcus Rashford by a nine-year-old called Dexter.
Susanna Reid became emotional on Tuesday’s episode of Good Morning Britain
But she was called “woke” and “pretentious” by one mean-spirited viewers on Twitter.
Footballer Rashford missed a penalty in the Euro 2020 final and received sickening racist abuse online, alongside fellow players Jadon Sancho and Bukayo Saka.
But he was comforted by several young fans, including Dexter, who appeared on GMB on Wednesday.
Susanna got choked up reading the letter, which began: “Dear Marcus Rashford, I hope you won’t be sad for too long because you are such a good person.
“Last year you inspired me to help people less fortunate, then last night you inspired me again, to always be brave.”
But one Twitter user slammed the star, writing: “Woke snivelling pretentious cow!!”
According to ChronicleLive, Susanna shared the tweet – now deleted – on her own account, leading to criticism of the unkind post.
