“You Don’t Look in Pain”: Taylor Fritz Denied 3 Minutes MTO by Trainer Los Casbos Open
American tennis professional Taylor Fritz skipped the Tokyo Olympics 2020 to play the Los Cabos Open in Mexico. Interestingly, he made a good run and reached the semfinals to meet Cameron Norrie for a seat in the final. However, the 23-year-old could not keep up the winning ways as he sunked against the Brit 6-3, 6-1.
What’s interesting, is that Fritz ran into a bizzare situation in the second set of the match. At 6-3, 1-4 down, the young American called for the trainer and insisted him to ask for the three-minute medical time-out.
Up until now, it all seemed natural but what went crazy is when the trainer denied his plea. Certainly, Fritz did not look in any kind of pain and might have called the trainer to push his opponent out of rhythm.
Shockingly enough, the trainer told him, “I just saw you serve, you don’t look in pain. That’s my call.” Unquestionably, such a scene would go into the rare spectacle book of tennis.

In utter disbelief, Fritz went on to continue the remaining of the match but could not make any addition to the scoreboard. Ultimately, he lost the match 6-3, 6-1.
Further ahead, British Cameron Norrie will battle either Americans John Isner or 19-year-old Brandon Nakashima for the title.

Taylor Fritz roller-coaster time in Mifel Open 2021
Before facing Norrie, Fritz overcome American Steve Johnson in the quarterfinals. During that match, it was Johnson who ran into trouble after he abused the chair umpire over an unfavorable decision.

Interestingly, Fritz was leading in that match; however, the chair umpire sorted that the linesperson gave the decision late and gave the point directly against Johnson.
No doubt, a lot of drama happened in and around the American No.1. Hopefully, the match time here would help him build for the ultimate tournament, the US Open 2021.
