A Place in the Sun’s Laura Hamilton has been forced to apologise for a post she wrote about some of the show’s property hunters after she received backlash from fans.

The 39-year-old posted a video on Instagram this week about the house hunters she’s been working with for the Channel 4 show.

Laura has hosted A Place in the Sun since 2012, and the show sees property experts help British couples who are looking to move from their home in dreary Britain for somewhere in the sun.

Fans of the show were upset over her comments concerning the house hunter’s financial constraints.

Laura uploaded a video addressing the issues people had while she was in Benalmádena in southern Costa Del Sol.

‘I posted a story to say that we were in Fuengirola, and this week’s property search has been quite tough because we have a limited budget of £80,000,’ she said.

‘Now if anyone knows property prices on the Costa del Sol, they will know £80,000 is a difficult budget.’

She also mentioned that the house hunters are aware of the constraints imposed by their budget and the types of homes they can afford as a result.

The presenter continued: ‘Someone sent me a message and told me I wasn’t very nice to be telling people that it’s a small budget.

‘So I’m sorry if I offended anyone, but I didn’t say anything that isn’t true and my house hunters aren’t at all offended.

‘In fact, they are very happy with what we’ve shown them and we’re about to do the final chat.’

Laura previously opened up on the other kind of unwanted DMs she receives from fans, with the star bombarded by some rather risque and X-rated images from admirers.

The presenter revealed she has had a few direct messages from those showing a little too much – and one with a peculiar use for a face mask.

She explained: ‘I did get a message not that long ago from somebody that was a picture of them with a face mask over their private parts.

‘And then the string of the facemask up their bottom, and I was like: “I don’t need to see this.” I just blocked it straight away.’
