World No. 190 Australian Tennis Player Upsets Felix Auger Aliassime at Tokyo Olympics 2020 R1
The Tokyo Olympics 2020 have begun and the matches have started getting explosive. However, there have been a few upsets. The latest casualty has been Canada’s Felix Auger Aliassime, who lost to Australia’s Max Purcell. He was dismissed in straight sets, 4-6 6-7(2).
Set 1: Australian is too heavy for Felix Auger Aliassime
As the match began, Felix Auger Aliassime did not get off to a great start. On the other hand, his Australian opponent was playing with great consistency.
The Canadian talents service let him down during the opening set. In the end, the one break was enough for Max Purcell to clinch the set in his favor. After 48 minutes, the Australian won the set 6-4. During the set, Felix committed way too many errors.

Set 2: Max Purcell’s discipline comes in handy
In the following set, the pattern continued for the Canadian player. He served five doubles faults during the entire set, clearly indicating how poor his service was during the match.
The number of unforced errors too kept mounting for Felix. Both players broke each other once. However, the set had to be decided in a tiebreaker. In the tiebreaker, Purcell won 7-2, thus winning the set 7-6(2).
This result comes as a shock. After the performance at the Wimbledon Championships not long ago, the Canadian star will be highly disappointed.

Nonetheless, now that his stint in Tokyo has come to an end, he can look forward to focusing on the US Open Series. Felix has been a player who enjoys playing on the hardcourts.
