Hungarian Grand Prix 2021: Lewis Hamilton Sweats It Out for Max Verstappen Battle in London

It is a known fact that Lewis Hamilton owns several properties around the world, with one of them situated in Monaco. Hence, ahead of most of the Hungarian Grand Prix, the Briton would fly to the streets of Monte Carlo to train for the race weekend at Hungaroring.

However, this time around, it looks like the 7-time world champion has opted to shuffle his routine a bit. How you might ask?

Well, Hamilton refused to travel to Monaco. Instead, he ended up staying back in London after the British Grand Prix and opted to accomplish his race preparations at home.

Lewis Hamilton updates on social media

The Mercedes driver posted stories on Instagram, earlier on Sunday. Hamilton can be seen jogging around the streets of London. He further recorded himself running on the world-famous Tower Bridge, simply known as the London Bridge.

Hamilton also captioned one of his recordings that captured the sunrise in London. “Good Morning World. Today’s a new day and a new opportunity to chase your dreams! Let’s go,” he wrote.

Similar to Hamilton, his title rival, Max Verstappen, too, opted to fly back home ahead of the race weekend in Hungary. After spending a day in the hospital, the Dutchman returned to the Netherlands to recover completely and return stronger for the approaching race.

Verstappen also posted an image of himself on social media, captioned, “Good to be back home”.

An intense battling on cards in Hungary?

Hamilton looked quite pumped up during the morning run. And why wouldn’t he be! Max Verstappen had been adding up a chunk of gap between the duo over each weekend, but Hamilton finally managed to pull things back quite significantly.

From 33 points ahead of the British Grand Prix, the gap came down to just 8 points by the end of the weekend at Silverstone.

Hence, Verstappen’s focus will entirely be residing on extending the lead to his rival. However, with everything to lose from here, it is unlikely that the Dutchman will show his usual aggressive nature against Hamilton, who on the other hand has nothing much to lose.

So, will the mounting pressure lead to the further downfall of Verstappen? Or will the Red Bull savior continue to dominate the 2021 season despite the shaky end to the weekend at Silverstone?
