John Barrowman has responded after he was criticised for slamming M Night Shyalaman’s latest movie Old and demanding a refund.
The Torchwood actor reportedly posted and deleted an expletive-filled rant about Old, a thriller about a family on a tropical holiday who discover that the secluded beach where they are relaxing for a few hours is somehow causing them to age rapidly.
John, 54, and his husband Scott Gill were thoroughly unimpressed with the feature film and branded it ‘utter s***e’ while even tagging Shyalaman and Universal Pictures.
In the deleted clip obtained by The Sun, John said: ‘We just came back from the movies, we saw Old, and it was utter s***e, utter s***e.
‘So bad I got up and asked for our money back, and what did I get? I got the money back.
‘They said “Usually within the first 30 minutes we give the money back”. The movie didn’t do anything for two frickin’ hours, it was s***e!’
Scott chimed in: ‘It was a bit of an endurance really.’
John then continued: ‘An endurance we will never get back, two hours of our life. It was s***e – don’t bother going to see it.’
The former Doctor Who star also wrote in the tweet: ‘@MNightShyamalan #Old @UniversalPics what a waste of money and an utter s***e movie.
‘We get the metaphors but we still got a refund! We were so disappointed. Don’t waste your time or money going to see it.’
Many called the couple’s comments ‘distasteful’ and criticised them for claiming a refund.
Hours later, John and Scott filmed another video which appeared to take aim at their critics subliminally by reviewing the animation Trolls.
John tweeted: ‘TROLLS! We just Love #Trolls !! Hours of Entertainment and highly recommended. (No Big Chain Cinemas were harmed in the making of this review).’

In the video, the couple joked they had chosen Trolls ‘following the popularity of our last movie review’.
After removing the review of Old, John also joked in another tweet: ‘Weirdly my tweet about the movie #old keeps getting deleted and I don’t know why? Jb.’
