Batman and his giant motorcycle take over Glasgow streets for The Flash

Don’t worry, the Caped Crusador is on his bike and very much on his way to save us all as filming for The Flash saw Batman in action this week.
Filming, which has also gone down in London, began earlier this year, with The Flash director Andy Muschietti sharing the official logo on social media to kick things off.
While Ben Affleck and Michael Keaton will be dousing themselves in talcum powder and slipping into the skintight Batsuit once more (or so we hope), the stars weren’t seen on set as a hench body double hopped upon a mighty metal steed instead.
Honestly, that kind of vehicle has to be compensating for something. No? Just us?
It took several crew members to get the giant bike into position, as they wheeled the thing onto the Scottish street-turned-US city.
Donning both the famous Batman cowl for cool, as well as a helmet because safety, the stunt double was seen essentially laying his whole body over the motor in order to read the throttle. We assume the film will make it look much less awkward. Or maybe that’s Batman’s new shtick for The Flash.

The Flash – starring Ezra Miller in the titular role – is due for release in November 2022, and, according to Glasgow Times, has taken over George Square, Cochrane Street and George Street as production rolls along.
Not to be confused with the Robert Pattinson-starring film The Batman, which also filmed this year, The Flash is part of the DC Universe and will star Ezra, and double Batman with Ben and Michael (who is believed to be playing an older Bruce Wayne). In it, Ezra’s Flash/Barry Allen travels back in time to prevent his mother’s murder, which brings unintentional consequences.

Michael famously played Batman in the 1989 original and Batman Returns in 1992, and had been rumoured to be returning but had previously hinted that he may not do it as he was worried about the coronavirus pandemic.
He told Deadline earlier this year: ‘To be honest with you, you know what worries me more than anything about all this stuff? It’s Covid.
‘I’m more concerned. I keep my eye more on the Covid situation in the UK than anything.

‘That will determine everything, and so that’s why I’m living outside the city here on 17 acres, staying away from everybody, because the Covid thing has got me really concerned.
‘So, that’s my first thing about all projects. I look at it and go, is this thing going to kill me, literally? And you know, if it doesn’t, then we talk.’
Joining him in The Flash will be Ben, who has played the superhero three times, in Suicide Squad, Justice League and Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.
Meanwhile, Ezra first played The Flash in Justice League and is back to play the lead role in the new superhero flick.

Glasgow is certainly the place to be if you’re a hotshot Hollywood director looking for a set after streets were transformed to film the latest Indiana Jones film.
Most recently, production for the fifth instalment, starring Harrison Ford, kicked up a notch last week with a fancy pants parade in the city.
The Flash is scheduled for release on November 4, 2022.
