‘Nobody thinks this is a bad idea?’ Married At First Sight UK drops hilarious first look teaser
Married At First Sight UK is officially on the horizon with E4 delivering a tantalising teaser ahead of the brand new series.
Following the explosive Australian version of the show, which had British viewers gripped earlier this year, the channel will be treating us to a batch of home-grown singles hoping to find love when they meet for the first time at the altar.
The 40-second trailer pokes fun at how the couples will inevitably make some surprising discoveries about their partners after tieing the knot, with a priest preparing to wed to perfect strangers.
‘Do you take this complete stranger, who won’t be so attractive when you find out why she’s been single for five years, to be your wife?’ he asks.
Turning to the bride, he continues: ‘Do you promise to cherish him even though he believes the world is flat?’
Looking for some kind of intervention from the guests, the priests begs the notorious question: ‘Should anyone know why this couple should not be married? Speak now or forever hold your peace.’

But besides a cough from the crowd, the silence is deafening.
‘Nobody thinks this is a bad idea?’ he winces.
The new series of Married At First Sight UK will be a bigger, more dramatic take on the format, following a fresh batch of singles as they search for love and a happy-ever-after with complete strangers.
The show will feature relationship experts Paul C. Brunson, Melanie Schilling and Sex and Relationship expert Charlene Douglas.
