“I Really Screamed at All of Them”: Bob Arum Recalls His Conversation With Tyson Fury’s Team Following Positive Covid-19 Report

The spine-chilling trilogy between Deontay Wilder and Tyson Fury was all set to take place on July 24. Also, many boxing pundits expected this rivalry to settle down once for all on this date. But what happened later left everyone rather disappointed. The Brit and a few members of his team tested positive for the ongoing Covid-19 virus and this much-awaited trilogy got pushed for October 9th instead.

Recently, Fury’s US promoter, Bob Arum, spoke to World Boxing News on this matter and he gave an honest opinion on the same.

He said, “I really screamed at all of them. It was a complete f*** up… There was no precaution taken, a lot of it was our fault… They [Wilder’s team] did the right thing, they’re to be commended. We didn’t.” (h/t Michael Benson)

Fury has now recovered from the deadly virus and he will now look ahead to get back to his finest momentum. The last time he confronted Wilder was in February 2020. Earlier, the pair met in 2018 and their fight ended in a draw.

It was obvious that these two will again collide once again before it’s all said and done. And once they took up the ring space in a rematch. It was all about ‘The Gypsy King’ employing his best skills to manhandle Wilder. He didn’t let the Alabama native take control of the ring and with his constant hammering, Fury won the fight with a T/KO in round 7.

But, the ex-champ in Wilder has moved ahead by taking that loss on his chin. And now he’s in for avenging his vicious loss.

They have bagged several notable wins to date and have relished their time at the summit. For now, it is Fury who still dwells at the peak, and Wilder is ecstatic to dethrone him from his spot.

With that, this trilogy seems even bigger, and it is undoubtedly the biggest trilogy in the sport’s history. It’ll be intriguing to see who among the two big men will claim a win and solidify his spot as the ultimate champ.
