RuPaul’s Drag Race UK has been showcasing the best of British to the world this series, and now it’s introduced viewers to a true UK delicacy – the Pot Noodle sandwich.

The remaining queens were forced into a seven-month filming break due to the coronavirus outbreak, returning with a Eurovision-style spectacular.

During that time, the contestants shared their lockdown tricks and habits, and Tayce’s pandemic delicacy didn’t go down too well with viewers.

The Welsh drag star shared their favourite recipe for the show in a new video, saying: ‘So today we are making one of my favourite delicacies of all time. No it’s not beans on toast. I know crazy. What is it? It’s a Pot Noodle sandwich.’

‘It looks horrific but it’s gorge. I don’t know about you world but I love a cheap and cheerful.’

Sharing cooking tips on how to perfect the dish, Tayce said: ‘You get your chicken and mushroom, you boil it up. You get your butter and your bread and you make sure it’s nice and thick, really soaked in all them juices.’

‘Let me tell you, that is some good quarantine food!’ Tayce added.

Safe to say, the dish received a mixed reaction on social media. Some couldn’t believe what they were seeing.

‘What in the hell is this,’ one viewer wrote.

‘English people eating like s***? Disappointed but not surprised,’ another added.

Some, though, were much more forgiving, and shared their love for the dish themselves.

‘Love a chicken supernoodle sandwich, 100% with you on this one,’ one fan posted on Twitter.

‘This is why he’s my fave! Although it’s a super noodle sandwich and quavers as edible forks for Pot Noodle,’ another one said, sharing their own strange recipe.

Love or hate it, it makes you proud to be British.

After filming was suspended for seven months, Veronica Green made a sudden exit from RuPaul’s Drag Race UK after testing positive for coronavirus.

RuPaul’s Drag Race UK airs Thursdays at 7pm on BBC iPlayer (UK) and World of Wonder (Rest of World).
