Fernando Alonso Dismisses Lewis Hamilton’s Fierce Radio Complaints in Hungary

The Hungarian Grand Prix was full of drama and exciting moments. The most notable was the battle between Lewis Hamilton and his former McLaren teammate, Fernando Alonso. The duo were fighting in the closing stages of the race for third place.

The 7-times world champion did overtake Alonso but soon complained about his driving on the team radio. After the race, Alonso was asked to give his thoughts on Hamilton complaining about him. The 40-year-old didn’t really care much and stated that Lewis always complains when things don’t go his way.

On lap 63 at the Hungaroring, Hamilton was chasing done Alonso’s Alpine. However, when he went for the gap, the Spaniard brake at the last moment and both of them had a minor contact. This frustrated Hamilton, and later came on the team radio and make a complaint.

Being told about Hamilton’s protest, Alonso boldly replied, “He always complains.”

Being asked if he was in the braking zone, Alonso responded, “I don’t know, I didn’t hear anything from the FIA. I guess he was okay.”

How did Hamilton’s race pan out?

The British driver started from pole position and was looking to set to the chequered flag from start to finish. However, tragedy ensued in the opening laps of the race.

The session was red-flagged, and most of the teams were changing their tires for the restart, as the track was getting dry. But Hamilton placed his car on the starting grid with intermediate tires for round two of lights out.

However, as soon went around the track, he realized his mistake and quickly headed back to the Mercedes garage to have a change of wheels. This saw him lose the lead of the race and soon found himself chasing the pack of drivers.

But, the 7-times world champion was determined to make amends, and soon enough found himself fighting for a podium, after battling his way up the grid.

He crossed the line in third place but was soon moved up as Sebastian Vettel was disqualified from the race. This saw Britain’s Knight eighteen points from the Hungaroring, and the lead in the title race against, Max Verstappen.
