Nadia Sawalha has slammed Jennifer Aniston after the Friends star revealed she had cut friends from her life who refused to have the Covid-19 vaccine, saying she thinks it’s ‘everything that’s wrong with the world’.

On Friday’s edition of Loose Women, the panel on the ITV show shared their views on Jennifer’s recent admission that she had ‘lost a few people in my weekly routine who have refused or did not disclose’ if they had been vaccinated.

In response to the reaction she received over her decision to unfriend people in her life, Jennifer shared a statement on her Instagram Story, stressing: ‘We have to care about more than just ourselves here.’

Linda Robson said that she found Jennifer’s decision ‘too harsh’, saying that in her opinion, ‘at the end of the day, it’s their choice’ whether people wish to become vaccinated or not.

Nadia had extremely strong views on the subject, stating: ‘I think it’s everything that is wrong with the world at the moment what she said. I’m so shocked. Why can’t we just be more understanding of people’s different points of view?’

The presenter explained that she has some ‘really close friends that are not vaccinated’, and it ‘really frightens’ her as she wishes they would be vaccinated as she watches their lives become ‘smaller and smaller’ due to the number of activities they can’t do over fear of catching the virus.

‘But to cut them off as a friend? I mean… we’ve got to keep having the debate. Not everybody that is scared or questioning the vaccine is a crazy anti-vaxxer,’ she said.

‘There’s many people that have had all the other vaccines but have fears about the vaccine. We’ve got to keep having a conversation and if it gets to the point where people are just cutting people out of their lives for it…’

Nadia emphasised that in her view, there are plenty of ways to socialise with friends at a distance if they are not vaccinated, such as meeting in the garden and sitting 10 feet apart.

Stacey Solomon told Nadia that she understood what she was saying, adding that ‘there’s a lot of judgement on both sides’.

‘I think that sadly what we’re not doing is going, “Why do you feel so scared of the vaccine?” We’re immediately looking at someone and saying you’re wrong, I’m right,’ she said.

‘I don’t think anyone’s giving anybody’s opinion credit or value on either side. You’re either for or against. There’s no compassion, there’s no emotion, there’s no humanity in the argument.’

Linda added that in the current climate with the pandemic, people ‘need their friends’, while Nadia remarked that it was ‘weird irony’ for Jennifer to cut friends from her life given her starring role on Friends.

‘When you think of that show for how many years, and that’s the most unfriendly thing I’ve ever heard,’ Nadia quipped.
