Dr Amir Khan has revealed he had to get the police involved after receiving death threats in his DMs on Instagram.
The medic, who regularly appears on Good Morning Britain, revealed the kinds of vile messages he has been sent by trolls since appearing on television.
He believes the catalyst to have been his pro-vaccine stance, which has angered anti-vaxxers who do not want to have the coronavirus vaccine.
Dr Amir told the Daily Star: ‘[I’ve had] some really personal attacks. Just the other day someone sent me a DM on Instagram telling me that they’re going to “kill me” or “it won’t be safe to leave my house.”’
He added: ‘I have reported all this stuff to the police.’
The GP says the trolling began at the start of the coronavirus pandemic and left him with ‘sleepless nights’ in the beginning.

He explained: ‘I’d be out for food with my friends and I couldn’t think of anything other than these awful message I’d been getting.’
Dr Amir believes the people sending him abuse are ‘victims of misinformation’ and have been consumed by a ‘rabbit hole’ of conspiracy theories.
The coronavirus vaccine has been deemed safe and effective by regulatory bodies, and key to getting the Covid-19 pandemic under control.
Currently over 85million doses of the vaccine have been administered, with almost 60% of the UK population having receive both doses.

Vaccination has also been opened up to under-18s for the first time this week, with 16- and 17-year-olds being able to get their jabs at GP surgeries and walk-in centres.
Dr Amir added: ‘Everybody has the choice to get the vaccine or not. If you don’t take it, that’s your choice. Don’t threaten me with violence or death because I think different to you.’
