Limp Bizkit have cancelled their concerts for the rest of the month over safety concerns.

The Rolling stars returned to the stage at last month’s Lollapalooza on July 31, with Fred Durst showing off his new look, however pulled out of a performance in New Jersey on Friday at the last minute.

The group have now decided to cancel the remaining eight dates on their tour, citing safety concerns.

‘Out of an abundance of caution and concern for the safety of the band, crew and most of all the fans, the Limp Bizkit show this Monday and the remaining August tour is being cancelled,’ they said in a statement.

‘Refunds are available at their points of purchase. All tickets purchased online will be automatically refunded.’

Frontman Fred was forced to hit back at mounting speculation online that guitarist Wes Borland had tested positive for coronavirus as the band cancelled their last gig on just a few hours notice.

Shortly after Friday’s gig was postponed, online speculation claimed guitarist Wes Borland had tested positive for the virus, but frontman Fred Durst insisted that wasn’t the case.

Addressing the rumours on Instagram, he penned: ‘Let us be clear: 1. Wes Borland does not have Covid. 2. The system is seriously flawed.

‘3. We don’t care much about the BS… We care a lot about you… Dad vibes coming soon [sic].’

Wes also vowed that he isn’t ill on his own Instagram story, telling fans: ‘I’m not sick… No seriously.

‘No matter what you’ve read, I don’t have Covid. I’m fine. Thanks [sic].’

More: Music

Limp Bizkit are currently set to return to the stage next month, playing Rocklahoma on September 5, before hitting up Danville, Virginia’s Blue Ridge Rock Festival and Rebel Rock.

And they teased that we might be getting new music on the way at some point, after leaving fans waiting for a decade for album number six.

The group haven’t released a new album since 2011’s ‘Gold Cobra’, but delighted the Lollapalooza crowd with the debut performance of an unheard track.

‘This song right here, it’s for you and only you,’ Fred told the audience. ‘It’s a song off our new album called Dad Vibes.

‘I want to see everybody out there dancing right now. Let me see how you do it.’
