Below Deck star Ben Robinson revealed he would have fired chef Mathew Shea from this series, as he had his say on the season six drama.

The foodie hasn’t had the best time of it on the Mediterranean spin-off, and needed to be taken to hospital on the very first day of the job, hours before the guests arrived on board.

Things didn’t get any better when he stormed out of a boozy dinner and walked off the boat, before returning the next morning.

Speaking of his antics, an unimpressed Ben said he was worthy of being kicked off for good.

‘I think he fired himself,’ the 40-year-old told Us Weekly. ‘I don’t think people actually get fired. I think people fire themselves, and I think he was worthy of having fired himself a couple of times.

‘Sandy, you know, she’s being a very diplomatic boss. She’s really trying with him, and I really hope it works out. It’s an interesting manager managerial skill.

‘She’s very zen and she’s got obviously a very big heart … but personally, I probably would have let him go.’

Mathew’s latest walk-off took place during a messy crew night out, which saw him leave dinner early and head back to the boat solo, where he proceeded to pack his bag up in a huff.

‘I don’t like people giving me s**t,’ he fumed. ‘I’ve worked too hard to get s**t for being myself. Give me crap for being myself, it’s, like, f**k you.’

‘They can find some f**ker to do their s**t,’ he added to the baffled chief officer while hitting cameras on his way out.

‘Good luck. You’ll have some f**king a*****e chef now.’

Mat’s antics went unnoticed on the night, as stewardess Lexi Wilson’s dramatic meltdown in the hot tub overshadowed the whole thing.

His co-stars were left confused when he was absent the next morning, with Captain Sandy Yawn calling in a replacement before he made an apologetic return to work.

Will the next charter trip be smoother? We doubt it…

Below Deck Mediterranean is available to stream on HayU, with new episodes dropping on Tuesdays in the UK.
