Recently, it came to light that Rafael Nadal will not be competing at the National Bank Open this season. He suffered from a foot injury that had an impact on him losing early in Washington last week. Due to that, the troubles have continued in the current week for the 20-time Grand Slam winner.

As a result, Nadal will slip down the rankings since he is defending 1000 points in Montreal. Losing those points mean, the Spaniard will slip down the rankings. he will go down from World No. 4 to World No. 6 in the following week, when the points are updated.
