Production on the next season of Married At First Sight Australia, one of the most talked about reality shows of late, has been delayed due to Covid-19 lockdowns, it has been reported.
Earlier this year, the sixth season of MAFS Australia – which first aired in the land Down Under in 2019 – aired in the UK, introducing to the cast of newlyweds including the likes of Jessika Power.
There have been eight MAFS Australia seasons in total, with another due to be released next year.
However, it has been claimed that the production has hit a snag due to the lockdowns that have been in place in Sydney, the capital of New South Wales.
According to TV Blackbox, filming on the Channel 9 show has been postponed until November this year as a result of the restrictions.
Typically, the participants of the series would film the segments on their backstories in September, with the weddings then taking place the following month.

It’s said that the delay in filming isn’t expected to affect when the upcoming season of MAFS Australia will air, although there is a possibility that the post-production of the series could be impacted.
The publication stated that if lockdowns continue in the region, insiders have claimed that Nine will find a way to ensure that filming does still take place.
After her rise to stardom on MAFS Australia, Jessika has since joined a new reality show, appearing on Big Brother VIP in Sydney.
She is starring in the competition among individuals including Thomas Markle Jr, half-brother of Meghan Markle; reality TV star and political candidate Caitlyn Jenner; and Omarosa Manigault Newman, former aide to Donald Trump.

The host of the programme, Sonia Kruger, recently teased the conversations that it will spark across the globe, promising that it will make ‘worldwide headlines’ when it airs.
In a teaser released earlier this month, Thomas described his half-sister as ‘shallow’, saying that he warned Prince Harry that she would ‘ruin’ his life.
