Gemma Collins was reportedly left ‘terrified’ after her nephew Hayden drifted out to sea on a kayak during their staycation in Cornwall.

The reality star had rented kayaks from the Ocean Sports Centre in Saint Ives for her two nephews and a third child, but trouble was said to have struck when the boys returned without Hayden.

In pictures and video footage obtained by MailOnline, Gemma, 40, could be seen pacing the beach and appeared to be begging for help from onlookers.

She is later seen standing alongside a lifeguard, who helped to rescue Hayden, 13, who is the son of her brother Russell.

An eyewitness claimed that Gemma ‘started to panic’ and was ‘so frantic’ when she realised that the boys had gone too far into the sea.

A source also told the publication: ‘She was really frightened. Everyone knows how much Gemma loves her nephew and she wouldn’t forgive herself if anything happened to them.

‘Naturally, she panicked when she realised Hayden was left out on his own and he looked some way out on his kayak, she rushed to the lifeguard who was very responsive, and used a jet-ski to quickly rescue him.’

They added: ‘Hayden was being an adventurous teenager and wasn’t sure what the fuss was all about, but Gemma knows how these situations can turn from bad to worse in a matter of seconds.’

Gemma is very close to Hayden and his older brother Kane, 15, and they have made frequent appearances on her reality series Diva Forever.

She posted a sweet tribute to Hayden on Instagram back in February to celebrate his 13th birthday, hailing him ‘the light of my life’.
