BTS have cancelled their postponed Map Of The Soul world tour, over a year after it was supposed to kick off.
The K-pop superstars had been set to start the tour in Seoul, South Korea, before taking it to America, Canada, Japan, England, the Netherlands, Germany and Spain, wrapping up with a date in Tokyo on September 2, 2020.
However, like most other concerts last year, the band postponed the first four shows in Korea due to the spread of Covid-19 in February, and postponed the entire tour in April.
The tour has been in limbo ever since, but now, it’s bad news for the ARMY, as their label Big Hit Music has confirmed the dates have been cancelled due to ‘changing circumstances’.
A statement on WeVerse read: ‘Our company has worked hard to resume preparations for the BTS MAP OF THE SOUL TOUR, knowing that all fans have been waiting eagerly and long for the tour.
‘However, due to changing circumstances beyond our control, it has become difficult to resume performances at the same scale and timeline as previously planned. Therefore we must announce the cancellation of the BTS MAP OF THE SOUL TOUR.
‘Our sincere apology to all fans who have waited for the BTS MAP OF THE SOUL TOUR to resume. We are working on preparing a viable schedule and performance format that can meet your expectations, and we will provide updated notices as soon as possible.’

BTS fans spread messages of support for the band on Twitter, as they got the hashtag #WeWillWaitForBTS trending.
RM, Suga, Jimin, Jin, J-Hope, Jungkook and V had been set to play two dates in London’s Twickenham Stadium.
This would have marked their first visit to the UK since their concerts in Wembley Stadium in 2019.

After the postponement of the tour last year, BTS held a virtual pay-per-view concert from the KSPO Dome in Seoul on October 10 and 11, 2020, called BTS Map Of The Soul ON:E, which was watched by nearly 1million fans.
The tour had been set to support the boys’ number one album Map Of The Soul: 7, which contained the hits Boy With Luv ft Halsey and On.
Later in 2020, they released their fifth Korean-language album Be, which contained the worldwide hit Dynamite – BTS’s first song fully in English.
