CM Punk is in All Elite Wrestling and the whole industry is abuzz after an incredible night of action on AEW Rampage.

The Voice of the Voiceless made a highly anticipated return seven years after leaving WWE, and stars from Vince McMahon’s company and beyond reacted to the emotional moment on Friday night.

While Bully Ray shared a photo of lightning in a bottle and AEW’s Dr. Britt Baker put ‘CM Punk’ in the place of her usual D.M.D. catchphrase, WWE’s MVP tweeted: ‘Professional wrestling can be SO awesome.’

He’s not wrong.

Omos, one half of the Raw Tag Team Champions with AJ Styles, wrote: ‘WHAT A TIME TO BE ALIVE!!!’

While new AEW signing Thunder Rosa added: ‘Holy [shit]’

And Bronson Reed – who was released from WWE this month and is facing an uncertain future in wrestling – said: ‘Well … that resonated with me deeply. I feel those words now more than ever.

‘I don’t know what will happen with me but I need to be in the ring with @CMPunk. He shaped my teenage years alongside Joe and we had the match below robbed from us.’

Even other companies got in on the action as the National Wrestling Alliance (NWA) showed real unity in the current landscape as they heaped praise on AEW and Punk for the historic moment.

The company’s official Twitter account posted: ‘Can we just say we love ALL of pro wrestling history? Props to @AEW/@CMPunk for a hell of a moment tonight. This’ll make the books. We hope to do the same next weekend. #AEWRampage’

Punk delivered an epic promo after making his entrance to Cult of Personality and receiving an all-time great reaction from his hometown crowd in Chicago.

The former world champion also confirmed he wasn’t just coming back for a quick nostalgia tour as he’s very much back in business and ready to take the wrestling world by storm.
