Jeremy Clarkson’s Diddly Squat Farm Shop is proving to be a very popular attraction as fans have had to queue for around two and a half hours to get in.

The Grand Tour host, 61, opened his Diddly Squat Farm Shop in Chipping Norton in 2020 and the fans have been flocking to visit it in the hopes of spotting Jeremy there too.

The usually quiet village has seen an influx of tourists from as far afield as Yorkshire, who told ITV: ‘We wouldn’t have come if he hadn’t put it on the map.

‘We saw it on TV obviously and love Jeremy Clarkson, so I thought we’d head over and have a look – took the dog with us.’

Jeremy has charted the progress of his farm and shop on the show Clarkson’s Farm, which meant even more viewers were keen to see it for themselves.

Butcher Tom Dean told ITV: ‘A few people are welcoming to it, because it brings more new faces to the area and gets the Chadlington name out there, but there are also a few people that aren’t as keen.’

Jeremy has also applied for planning permission to make changes to the site, including a new rear access door and replacing the shutters.

Chadlington parish council said it has no objections but, if approved, ‘this should not confirm a change of use status for this agricultural building’.

Jeremy had previously made an application in November 2020 to convert a lambing shed next to the shop into a cafe, and again applied in February 2021 for a license to sell alcohol and provide entertainment.

The council added: ‘The parish council remains concerned regarding the effect of the incremental development at this location, both upon the local community, its existing shops and an area of outstanding natural beauty (AONB).

‘The number of cars currently visiting this site is already substantial, often filling the existing available parking space and overflowing onto the Chipping Norton Road, which is hardly desirable in an AONB and creates a significant risk that accidents will occur.’
