Hilary Duff has revealed her gratitude to have had the coronavirus vaccine after being left with ‘brain fog’ after contracting the Delta variant.

The actress, 33, shared a photo of her in bed as she hailed the vaccine after catching the highly-transmissable variant of Covid-19.

She told her followers: ‘That delta… she’s a little b***h. Symptoms: bad headache. No taste or smell. Sinus pressure. Brain fog.’

Hilary signed off the post with a peace sign emoji, adding: ‘Happy to be vaxxed.’

The US is currently experiencing a surge of coronavirus cases caused by the Delta variant.

Although the vaccine is highly effective in preventing serious illness or death from coronavirus, it does not mean the virus can not be contracted or passed on if a person is fully vaccinated.

Hilary had had to quarantine in November last year after being exposed to someone with coronavirus while pregnant with her third child, daughter Mae.

She took to her Instagram story at the time to reveal that she was self-isolating, sharing a selfie and telling fans: ‘Exposed to covid Quarantine day 2 Fml’.

Hilary didn’t give any more details on what had happened to result in being exposed to someone with the virus, but later claimed she had got an eye infection from the repeated coronavirus tests she had been taking for work.

Doctors, however, rubbished the claim that the tests caused her eye infection, with Dr Claudia Pastides, Babylon GP, telling Metro.co.uk: ‘I don’t know the details of Hilary’s eye infection but her comment “My eye is fine, needed antibiotics” implies that she probably was diagnosed with a bacterial conjunctivitis (eye infection).

‘Covid-19 is a virus and not a bacteria that causes eye infections. I’m not sure how you’d catch a bacterial eye infection from doing multiple Covid-19 tests.

‘The tests are done by placing a swab into your throat and nose and require you to wash your hands well before and after.’
