Love Island contestant Liberty Poole has spoken out after finally receiving her phone back following her exit from the villa.

Jake Cornish and Liberty were an early favourite to win the show, after coupling up right at the beginning and being dubbed ‘Jiberty.’

However, things all fell apart after the islanders were made to watch unseen clips of each other, with Liberty soon reassessing her feelings for Jake.

And after a turbulent week, they decided to leave together with their heads held high, despite going their separate ways.

Now, Liberty has updated her newfound Instagram followers on just how much their support meant to her.

She begun by saying: ‘Hi guys so I’ve got my phone back now and I’m just in the villa, I’ll be appearing on Aftersun tonight.

‘I can’t even tell you guys how overwhelmed I am by the amount of support you guys have shown.

‘The amount of messages I’ve had saying, “you’ve inspired me,” and “you’re my role model.”

‘It honestly means more to me than winning any sort of money or getting to the final.’

Liberty went on to add: ‘The fact I’ve inspired so many people… that’s what I want to do and continue to do.

‘So just a quick video to say big love and honestly thank you guys so much!’

Many fans were drawn to her close friendship with Kaz Kamwi, who was incredibly supportive when she announced she would be leaving.

Liberty told Kaz after splitting with Jake: ‘You know, I might not have found love, or the love that I thought I had at first, but I found self-love.

‘And you can’t let someone love you or fall in love with someone until you love yourself inside and out.

‘I feel like Love Island has been that for me,’ she told her friend.

In response, Kaz told her: ‘You’re literally one of the strongest, most beautiful and intelligent people I’ve ever met in my entire life.
