Love Island viewers were heartbroken and confused after the contestants were forced to socially distance from their friends and families as they entered the villa on Sunday night.
Loved ones were welcomed onto the show in the last episode before the finale and emotions ran high as they were reunited.
Toby Aromolaran cried for the first time this series when his mother and sister came to visit him, but social distancing rules meant they weren’t allowed to hug each other and they had to sit two metres apart.
During his chat with his family, Toby’s mum began to tear up as she said: ‘I’ve missed you so much!’
And Toby also became emotional as he replied: ‘No, stop! Mum, stop! I haven’t cried once here and now I’m crying!’
Elsewhere, Teddy Soares’ brothers told Faye Winter her behaviour was ‘very bad’ in her explosive argument that sparked over 24,000 Ofcom complaints.
Viewers expressed their upset at seeing the islanders having to keep their distance and flooded social media in dismay.
‘This is heartbreaking they can’t give each other hugs man,’ one wrote.
Echoing a similar sentiment, another added: ‘The producers are cruel for sending their families into the villa when they can’t even hug or anything.’

Elsewhere during tonight’s episode, Teddy’s brothers Sidney and Carlos admitted they had found the row hard to watch.
Carlos told Teddy: ‘The way you’ve carried yourself, I couldn’t be more proud. You’ve stayed true to yourself and you’ve been a gentleman.;

Addressing the argument, he said: ‘It was a difficult moment for us to watch.
‘It’s hard for us to give you a good overview of what we think of her because we are only seeing a slice of the situation.’
Love Island concludes on Monday night at 9pm on ITV2.
