Kim Kardashian and Kanye West reportedly have a ‘friendly relationship’, having come ‘a long way’, but are not getting back together.
Reality TV star Kim, 40, has recently been publicly supporting her ex-husband Kanye’s work, whose long-stalled album Donda is set for release imminently.
A source told PEOPLE: ‘Kim and Kanye have a friendly relationship. It’s always been important to Kim to have a good relationship with Kanye. They are not getting back together though.’
Referring to the former couple’s lunch date this week, the insider explained the duo are ‘at the point now when they can hang out’ as there are ‘no hard feelings.’
The insider also claimed that rapper Kanye was ‘very upset and disappointed’ when Kim filed for divorce, and so the Skims entrepreneur had initially given him space.
The couple, who went public with their romance in 2012, are now ‘able to make amicable decisions that benefit the kids’ – they share daughters North, eight, and Chicago, three, and sons Saint, five, and two-year-old Psalm.

The source continued: ‘The kids are thrilled when they see Kanye. Kim wants them to have an amazing relationship with their dad, just like she did with her dad.’
Kim previously credited the 44-year-old with teaching her how to be ‘true to herself’.
Speaking on the We Are Supported By… podcast with with Kristen Bell and Monica Padman, she explained: ‘I got to a point – and maybe [it was] being in a relationship with Kanye for a decade, someone that absolutely didn’t care about likeability factor or what any perception of him was as long as he was true to himself – that taught me so much in the best way of just being me and living in the moment.’
Reflecting on the fact that you have one life to live ‘and you’re living it for you, the Keeping Up With the Kardashians star continued: ‘That taught me to just be more confident in myself and truly not care as much of what other people thought.’

The KKW Beauty founder has brought along the former couple’s four children to their dad’s listening party events for Donda, a third of which will be taking place on Thursday August 26 at Soldier Field stadium in Chicago.
The album, named after Kanye’s late mother, has faced multiple delays.
