American Crowd Creates Unreal Atmosphere at Solheim Cup 2021 for Nelly Korda, Lexi Thompson, and Others

The 2021 Solheim Cup is currently underway at the Inverness Golf Club in Ohio. The Solheim Cup is a professional women’s golf event similar to the men’s Ryder Cup. Even in the Solheim Cup, golfers from Europe and the United States compete against each other for three days.

Meanwhile, the European team is the defending champion of this event as they were the last to win it in 2019 in Scotland. However, United States has won the cup most times, with 10 wins, while Europe has 6. And this time, the Solheim Cup is in the United States, and fans have shown immense support to the home team on the first tee.

Fans gather in huge numbers to support team U.S. at the 2021 Solheim Cup

U.S. captain Pat Hurst and European captain Catriona Matthew revealed their pairings for the morning foursomes on Day 1 on Friday. And the fans had already made their way into the stands as early as 7 A.M. The moment Team USA golfers Danielle Kang, Lexi Thompson, Nelly Korda stepped on the tee box, the fans went berserk.

Moreover, all these players, especially Danielle Kang and Lexi Thompson, encouraged fans to cheer louder during their first tee shot. Meanwhile, a few people were happy to see that the women’s game is getting the attention it deserves.

Interestingly, there is always a pin drop silence while golfers hit their shot. However, during Lexi Thompson and Danielle Kang’s tee shots, they encouraged the fans to keep cheering louder. So, here are a few videos where you can hear the roars of the crowd.

Love how many young girls are in the crowd, pumped up as hell. This is how we bring more of them into golf–promoting all the badass women who play this sport.

The format for Solheim Cup is similar to that of the Ryder Cup. The event is played for three days, with eight foursomes, eight four-balls on days one and two, respectively. Furthermore, there is a single-stroke play event on the final day, and the team with the most points after the stroke play event will become the champion.
