Marilyn Manson’s former personal assistant has spoken out on the singer’s relationship with Evan Rachel Wood, claiming everything about the actress got ‘darker’ during this time.

Dan Cleary, who initially worked as a keyboard tech for Manson’s touring crew before becoming his personal assistant from 2014 – 2015, claimed Wood ‘changed a lot’ over the course of a year.

Cleary claimed to have met Wood on tour in 2007 and 2008, saying on his Rare Form Radio podcast that she was ‘very sweet’ at the beginning of tour but ‘changed a lot over the course of the year.’

He continued: ‘Her demeanour changed. Her physical looks changed. She got skinnier. She got ― her whole like aura just became darker.’

Cleary added: ‘I don’t care how big of a fan you are of anybody, you have no idea what they’re like at home.

‘You have no idea what they’re like when the cameras aren’t rolling or when they’re not on stage. We don’t know what our best friends are like behind closed doors.’

Wood had come out to publicly accuse Manson of ‘horrific abuse’ during their relationship, claiming: ‘The name of my abuser is Brian Warner, also known to the world as Marilyn Manson.

‘He started grooming me when I was a teenager and horrifically abused me for years. I was brainwashed and manipulated into submission.

‘I am done living in fear of retaliation, slander, or blackmail. I am here to expose this dangerous man and call out the many industries that have enabled him, before he ruins any more lives.

‘I stand with the many victims who will no longer be silent.’

Manson denied the claims, saying in a statement: ‘‘Obviously, my art and my life have long been magnets for controversy, but these recent claims about me are horrible distortions of reality.

‘My intimate relationships have always been entirely consensual with like-minded partners. Regardless of how – and why – others are now choosing to misrepresent the past, that is the truth.’
