Who Is Emma Raducanu’s Coach? All You Need to Know About Her Team

The 2021 tennis season saw numerous teenage talents rise high in the sport. One of the names that the entire tennis world has come to adore is Emma Raducanu. But how did an 18-year-old manage to become one of the headlines of the WTA circuit?

From Wimbledon fourth-round to the US Open semifinals, Raducanu has made her way to the top in 2021. Additionally, her raw but curated playing style is making every fan wonder about her potential. But the more important question is: Who coaches Emma Raducanu?

At Wimbledon 2021, Raducanu earned a massive following after her run as a wildcard entrant. At that time, the experienced Nigel Sears, the father-in-law of Andy Murray, coached her. But despite her successful week in London, the 18-year-old Raducanu moved on from him after Wimbeldon.

After Wimbledon, Raducanu appointed Andrew Richardson as the head coach. Following which, many experts questioned her decision.

In comparison, Richardson did not have the experience on the professional tour that Sears had. However, the young tennis star had her priorities set.

Going from Wimbledon to the US Open series, Raducanu needed someone familiar by her side. As a result, she went back to Richardson, who developed her tennis basics as the head coach of Bromley Tennis Centre when she was a young girl.

Undeniably, her decision paid off well in the end. At the US Open 2021, Raducanu became the first-ever qualifier to reach the semifinals. Hence, as an 18-year-old, she already has her name in the history books of the sport. In the semi, she will go up against Maria Sakkari of Greece.
