Supervet Noel Fitzpatrick has shared an emotional update with fans just a week after the death of his beloved dog, terrier Keira.

Noel, 53, had to say a tough goodbye to one of his own brood earlier this month after sharing with fans his dog Keira had died.

Just days after announcing the sad news, he has now posted a tearful clip in which he summed up how much the late four-legged friend meant to him.

He began the three minute-long video by saying: ‘It’s the dawn of a new day, first day since we put up a headstone for Keira.

‘Thank you so much everybody for all of your good wishes and your kind thoughts and your compassion in the last few days since we lost her.

‘She gave me hope, she made me the best I could be, she saved me from all of the ups and downs.

‘She knew everything about me and she kept it all to herself.’

He went on to add how all the work he has done and continues to do, ‘is for her.’

‘The thing is she was never mine, I was hers… mutual guardianship. I don’t believe in ownership, sentient life, best friends,’ Noel commented.

He ended the emotional tribute by adding: ‘Your light remains inside me. You’re always by my side. Keira, I love you and everybody thank you so much.

Thank you to everyone for your kind words and comfort during this difficult time. I have been incredibly touched by your support and love over the last week.

‘She remains with us. Her light remains with every single one of us that believes in unconditional love.’

Noel shared the difficult news he’d had to say goodbye to Keira, with his friends and followers on social media earlier this month.

It is with profound sadness I share the news that Keira, my beloved companion of nearly 14 years, has passed away. She inspired everything I do for animals and her legacy will be eternal.

Alongside a picture of the pooch, he said: ‘It is with profound sadness I share the news that Keira, my beloved companion of nearly 14 years has passed away.

‘My heart is truly broken, she was my best friend in the whole wide world.

‘My friend Amy and her son Kyle are broken-hearted too since they have shared their guardianship with me all this time.’

The Supervet went on to explain how Keira nearly lost her life a year ago but they were able to gift her with further time.

He has continued to thank followers for all their love and support since announcing Keira’s death.
