“I Am on the One Leg”- Conor McGregor Explains His Dismal Baseball Throw
‘The Notorious’ Conor McGregor was given the honor to throw the first pitch at a Baseball game between the Chicago Cubs and Minnesota Twins at the Iconic Wrigley Stadium. While McGregor has flattened many opponents in the UFC with his left hand, his skills didn’t transcend too well in Baseball.
While he managed a powerful throw, his pitch was way off target. But the Irish fighter himself believes it was not so bad as he still injured on his left leg and couldn’t put weight on it properly. For those who don’t know. McGregor suffered a freak leg break in his UFC 264 trilogy fight against Dustin Poirier.
In an interview afterward, McGregor opened up on his first pitch. “The most devastating first pitch ever seen in the iconic Wrigley Field,” said McGregor.
“Well, the venom is there, the power is there, it’s a little off accurate-wise. But you know, I am on the one leg, you can see me base fully on the left leg which was just recently injured. I’m happy with that, I will take that on-board,” he added further.
“I don’t think there’s much power difference between mine and them out there. Just the accuracy is a little off. I will take that. If it was on target he would have a problem I would say,” McGregor said.
Conor McGregor seems to be recovering well from his leg break
The Irish fighter is currently undergoing recovery from his leg injury suffered at the UFC 264 pay-per-view. It seems that he is well on course with that as he is walking fine on it recently. It was a devastating injury and fans were worried about his fighting future. But, his new titanium shin bone seems to be perfect as he is almost back to his usual life.

But, when he eventually returns to the UFC Octagon, remains to be seen. He is yet to start any training in terms of fighting. So, fans shouldn’t expect the marquee fighter to be back anytime before the second half of 2022. Nevertheless, it’s always good for the sport of MMA to have McGregor active. Fans will hope they see the superstar fighter back healthy.
