Turkish Grand Prix Weather Forecast: Will Rain Make the 2021 F1 Race as Exciting as 2020 in Istanbul?

With the eventful Russian GP now crossed off the Formula One calendar, fans are eagerly waiting for the Turkish Grand Prix. This past race weekend in Sochi saw showers as the race headed into its closing stages, which impacted the results. Coincidentally, last year’s race in Turkey saw rain as well.

So fans are wondering if they should expect an exciting race for the next round of the championship. Will rain affect the Turkish GP as it did for the race in Sochi?

The weather forecast for the Turkish Grand Prix, is rain expected?

The rain did have a major role to play in the Russian Grand Prix this past race weekend. It also created an exciting event last year in Turkey as well. So what should teams and drivers expect for the upcoming race weekend?

On Sunday, in the opening hours of the Grand Prix, the temperature is said to be around 21 degrees Celsius, winds reaching a speed of 20 mph. Humidity is said to be at 62%, while precipitation is said to be at 40%.

As the race heads into its closing stages, the temperature will drop to 16 degrees, winds reaching a speed of 17 mph, humidity at 84%. While precipitation should be at 52%.

Lewis Hamilton to claim victory once again?

Last year at the Turkish GP saw the Brit come out on top and claim his seventh world title; equaling Michael Schumacher’s record. Last race weekend in Sochi, it was the Mercedes drive who claimed victory and setting a record for the most wins in Formula One.

The Knight is confident and is optimistic about grabbing another win for Mercedes, no matter what the conditions around the track are. His aim is to extend his lead in the championship against Max Verstappen.
