The View’s Whoopi Goldberg shuts down co-host Meghan McCain who blamed Fauci for slow vaccine rollout
WHOOPI Goldberg on The View slammed Meghan McCain for saying the Biden Administration should remove Dr. Anthony Fauci for the slow vaccine roll-out, and instead replace him with someone who “understands science.”
On Monday’s episode of The View, McCain unleashed a tirade against the nation’s leading infectious disease expert, saying he was to blame as the country neared a milestone of 500,000 deaths from the coronavirus.

“And the fact that Dr. Fauci is going on CNN and he can’t tell me that if I get the vaccine, if I’ll be able to have dinner with my family,” McCain said. “It continues to be inconsistent messaging.”
She was responding to The View co-host Joy Behar, who pinned the nation’s vaccine rollout problem on former President Donald Trump and saying Dr. Fauci and others were doing the best they could under Trump as president.
However, McCain found fault with that logic.
“The grief that our country is going through should not be downplayed,” McCain said. “That being said, next week will be a year since we left the studio, and I have been very responsible in many different ways, as so many Americans have been.”

McCain went on to point at other countries and their vaccine rollouts, emphasizing Israel’s “Get a Shot, Take a Shot” campaign and wondered why similar efforts have not been made here.
“Is the science in Israel different than the science here in the United States of America? McCain said.
“The fact that I, Meghan McCain, co-host of The View don’t know when or how I will be able to get a vaccine because the rollout for my age range and my health is so nebulous,” McCain, co-host of The View, said. “I want to be responsible and obviously wait my turn, but this rollout has been a disaster.”
That’s when she went down her rant on Fauci.
“I’m over Dr. Fauci. We need to have more people giving more opinions,” McCain said. “Quite frankly, I think the Biden administration should remove him and put someone else in place that maybe does understand science and or can talk to other countries about how we can be more like these places that are doing this successfully.”
Goldberg started to chime in, saying people’s attitudes towards wearing masks in Israel was far different than people’s attitudes in the US.

Then McCain started cross-talking, and producers muted her – as they do to make the virtual show flow smoothly – and all you hear is McCain saying “I know what I’m saying is controversial.”
“You gotta do — I understand,” replied Goldberg. “It has nothing to do with you being –”
As McCain continued to cut her off, Goldberg threw her hands up and said “We’ll be right back. We’ll be right back.”
