James Bay welcomes first child with girlfriend Lucy: ‘We are so in love’

James Bay has announced the exciting news that he’s become a dad, sharing sweet photos of his newborn baby daughter.
The Hold Back The River hitmaker and his girlfriend Lucy Smith welcomed the new arrival to the family last week.
Sharing photos of himself cradling the little one and holding her hand, the 31-year-old wrote on Instagram: ‘Family ♥️ After all these years together as two, we’re so excited to be three!
‘Last week Lu gave birth to our first baby, Ada Violet Bay. We are so in love and filled with gratitude and joy for this little miracle in our lives.
‘Thank you for all your well wishes xx’.
Fans and friends have been quick to share the love, with Joe Wicks writing: ‘❤️❤️❤️❤️ absolutely wonderful. Congratulations.’
Russell Howard added: ‘Amazing news guys x’ while Dermot O’Leary said: ‘Hey! Great news bud. X’.

James and Lucy have been together since they were teenagers, with the pair starting their relationship in 2007.
While he’s been very private about his relationship, he opened up last year, explaining: ‘These next singles and album are a bit of a tribute to the 13-year journey my girlfriend and I have been on.
‘She’s the coolest person in the world. We were close friends before we were in a relationship.’
James added to The Sun: ‘Back in the day, we would be sitting in on a Wednesday night watching TV, and she would say, “Hang on, if you want to be a big artist one day, surely you should be out in some pub or club playing some songs right now.”
‘She instilled that in me, and I got out and did it. I wouldn’t be here without her.’
